Projects of the NWHF
The Funding: Provide funds for those seeking
reproductive health services, primarily abortions, female sterilization
(through tubal ligations), and annual gynecological exams, focusing
on low-income and young women, students, and women of color. Funds
will help cover the cost of procedure, transportation, child care,
and post-operative care. Outreach and Education: Collaborating with young women, Hispanic/Latina
women, and low-income and marginalized populations in the community
to educate and increase awareness about self-esteem, empowerment,
healthy decision-making, pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted
infections and diseases, rape, domestic violence, and sexual
assault. Advocacy: Implement strategies to address public policy and legislation regarding women's rights and access to reproductive health care services. Maintain a database of legislative action tools, collaborate with other organizations to lobby Congress and local government representatives, and engage youth and women to participate in the political process. |
